It is open to all participants who identify as a peer and are over the age of 18.

SUMMARY:QPR Gatekeeper Training
DESCRIPTION:Now more than ever\, suicide prevention awareness and training is needed in our communities. QPR Gatekeeper Training is a virtual\, 1 hour training meant to guide participants on how to recognize an individual who may be in a suicide crisis and how to guide them to proper treatment/services. QPR is a mnemonic that stands for Question\, Persuade and Refer to help you remember the 3 easy steps to helping a person who may be suicidal. Thanks to funding through the Delaware DSAMH\, by the DHSS\, SAMHSA\, Center for Substance Abuse Treatment\, Substance Abuse Block Grant\, NAMI Delaware is able to offer this training at no cost to participants. \nContent Warning: Discussion of suicide\, suicidal ideation & potential means. Also includes interactive discussion portion regarding a fictional scenario describing an individual exhibiting warning signs of suicidality.

DESCRIPTION:Virtual\, course closed \nThis class runs every Wednesday from 6pm-8pm until November 9th. \nNAMI Family-to-Family is an 8-session education program for family\, significant others and friends of people with mental health conditions. The facilitators are NAMI-trained family members who have been there and open to sharing their lived experiences. \nThe group setting of NAMI Family-to-Family provides mutual support and shared positive impact—experience compassion and reinforcement from people who understand your situation. Sharing your own experience may help others in your class. In the program\, you’ll learn about: \n\nHow to solve problems and communicate effectively\nTaking care of yourself and managing your stress\nSupporting your loved one with compassion\nFinding and using local supports and services\nUp-to-date information on mental health conditions and how they affect the brain\nHow to handle a crisis\nCurrent treatments and therapies\nThe impact of mental health conditions on the entire family
