DESCRIPTION:NAMI Delaware is offering Youth Mental Health First Aid! This course is a community class open at no cost to the public\, courtesy of grant funding provided by the Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH). \nParticipants must attend the entire session as well as complete both the pre- and post-work through the MHFA portal to receive the certification. \nRegister now: https://namide-ymhfa.eventbrite.com\nNOTE: REGISTRATION CLOSES ONE WEEK PRIOR TO EVENT to give time to give attendees access and time to complete PRE-WORK. \nWhat is Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA)? \nYouth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents\, family members\, caregivers\, teachers\, school staff\, peers\, neighbors\, health and human services workers\, and other caring citizens how to help youth and adolescents (age 12-18) who are experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. SUMMARY:QPR Suicide Prevention Training
DESCRIPTION:QPR is a free\, 1-hour training on suicide prevention from the QPR Institute. QPR stands for Question\, Persuade\, and Refer and stands as a model for how to respond when someone discloses suicidal thoughts/feelings to you. Participants also learning the warning signs to help recognize when someone might be experiencing a suicidal crisis\, as well as information to dispel common myths about suicide that contribute to its stigmatization. \nThis QPR training session does not require registration. If you’re available\, come join us for this important and life-saving training on Sunday\, June 23rd\, from 2:30pm-3:30pm\, at the Carlisle Fire Department (615 NW Front St\, Milford\, DE 19963). \nHave any questions?
