o Helpline Specialist Intern/Volunteer—Responsibilities include responding with empathy and compassion to callers looking for information, support, and resources about issues related to mental illness; managing record-keeping and producing regular reports of calls for review by supervisory team
o Programs & Multi-cultural Engagement Intern – Responsibilities include support for creating, developing, marketing, facilitating, and reporting on educational programs and support group events; attending and reporting on multi-cultural community events and programs on behalf of NAMI Delaware; providing research and support to staff for specific outreach engagement opportunities; strengthening existing partnerships with local community agencies as well as seeking out new partnership to further our mission
o Research & Advocacy Intern – Responsibilities include representing NAMI Delaware at community meetings and events, providing research, support, and record-keeping for individual advocacy cases as directed by staff; researching mental health-related policy issues at the state and national level; developing new contacts and strengthening current relationships with the offices of local policy makers as advised by supervisor; monitor national NAMI advocacy reports and assist staff with related communication to Delawareans.
o Communications & Outreach Intern – Responsibilities include supporting staff with outreach communications (ie. social media, e-mails, marketing of events and programs, volunteer newsletter, information flyers); developing innovative ways to strengthen follower-base via social media; create focused awareness campaigns as directed by supervisors.
o Development & Operations Intern – Responsibilities include helping to maintain updated NAMI Membership information, enter new donor information and updating existing donor records, provide support for special events, assist in assembling solicitations and other bulk mailing materials, conduct prospect research to identify potential individual, corporate and foundation donors, and provide administrative assistance to the Development & Operations team as needed.
o Support/Education Program Facilitator – Responsibilities differ depending on the program. Programs include: NAMI Ending the Silence, NAMI Sharing Hope, NAMI Say It Out Loud, NAMI Family Support Group, NAMI Connections, NAMI Family to Family, Discover, & Hope For Recovery.
o Community Engagement Volunteer – Responsibilities include representing NAMI Delaware at community events, supporting staff in specific outreach engagement in one’s location, networking and making connections on behalf of NAMI Delaware when applicable, aiding staff in bringing NAMI Delaware events and programs to all areas in Delaware.
